BARBARA WHITNER TO MANAGE NEWEST DEVELOPMENT

DB Homes is pleased to announce the appointment of Barbara Whitner as Sales Manager for The Pointe at Sterling Lakes in Pepper Pike. Barbara comes to DB Homes with over 10 years experience in new home sales and marketing and was previously the Eastern Region Sales Manager for Builder Developer Services at Realty One Real Living.

The Pointe at Sterling Lakes will feature loft-style town homes priced from the upper $300’s and attached cluster homes priced from the upper $400’s. TREE OF HOPE REACHES 10-YEAR MILESTONE

DB Homes reached a 10-year milestone this past holiday season and once again helped brighten the holidays of several families through their "Tree of Hope" program. They partnered with Pastor Michael LoPresti and Word of Grace Church, who along with Donald L. Barr & Company customers, trade partners, business associates and team members, identified sixteen area families and provided gift cards for groceries, gasoline and stores. Ten families were given help to pay school fees, while the other six families were blessed with gifts and groceries.

The Tree of Hope campaign was initiated by longtime employee Rosalie Gable. She first experienced the magic of neighborly compassion when her friends and neighbors rallied around her own family when her son David became a quadriplegic as a result of a car accident. Understanding what a difference the kindness of community members could make in others lives, Rosalie brought the program to the DB Homes family.

"What's great is how the community embraces this program," Barr said. "It's an emotional time for everyone. It's very rewarding for us… because that's what Christmas is all about -- giving, not receiving."

PRESTON’S HOPE

A child is just a child…just ask Ken and Jackie Fisher. Their fourth child, Preston, was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), a physically debilitating genetic disorder when he was only 10 months old. Despite being told that he would not live beyond two years, the Fishers dedication to their son has blossomed into the Preston’s Fund and Preston’s H.O.P.E. playground project in Beachwood.

The Preston Fund for SMA Research was established as a non-profit with a two-fold mission. To raise medical research dollars focused on the eradication of SMA and to build a new fully handicapped accessible playground and recreation area for all N.E. Ohio children. DB Homes, along with their partners and suppliers, have donated their time and materials to build one of the playhouses at Preston’s H.O.P.E. (Helping Others Play & Enjoy).
